Itinerary

Zambia

• Lusaka – Introduction to Zambia’s capital and its Catholic and cultural heritage before continuing into the country’s missionary heartland.
• Kabwe – Spend time with the CICM mission community and participate in celebrations marking Fr. Peter Koh CICM’s 30 years of priestly ministry.
• St. Peter Kasosolo Mission – Visit an outstation parish, meet the local mission community, enjoy a guided visit with a priest, and celebrate Holy Mass for the 30th Sacerdotal Anniversary.
• St. Veronica Church – Participate in the principal celebration of Fr. Peter Koh CICM’s 30 years of priestly ministry, sharing Holy Mass and fellowship with the local Catholic community.
• Missionaries of Charity – Visit the convent and home for the poor associated with Mother Teresa’s sisters; celebrate Holy Mass in the chapel and encounter their ministry of compassionate service.

Tanzania

• Arusha – Gateway to Tanzania’s renowned northern safari circuit and the starting point for an unforgettable journey through the country’s wildlife reserves.
• Lake Manyara National Park – Explore groundwater forests, grassy floodplains, acacia woodland, hot springs, and the alkaline lake. Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, baboons, birdlife, and the park’s renowned tree-climbing lions.
• Serengeti National Park – Journey into one of Africa’s great wilderness landscapes. Experience game drives across vast plains in search of wildebeest, zebra, giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and other wildlife.
• Great Migration – Depending on seasonal wildlife movements, there may be opportunities to witness part of the extraordinary migration of wildebeest and zebra across the Serengeti.
• Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and explore its grasslands, freshwater lakes, marshes, forests, and acacia woodland. Wildlife may include elephants, black rhinos, lions, hyenas, wildebeest, zebra, hippos, buffalo, gazelles, and numerous bird species.
• Tarangire National Park – Explore the “Land of Giants,” renowned for large elephant herds, magnificent baobab trees, seasonal swamps, sweeping savannahs, and the Tarangire River.
• Arusha – Return to the safari capital for time to explore and shop before beginning the homeward journey.
• Holy Mass, prayer, missionary encounters, fellowship, and opportunities to contemplate God through the splendour of creation are woven throughout this unique African journey.
